For sale: Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition

Gruppo Bertone, the company responsible for iconic automotive designs such as the Ferrari Rainbow, the Alfa Romeo BAT, Ferrari's 208/308 GT4, Cizeta Moroder V16T, Iso Grifo, Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale and Lamborghini's Miura and Diablo, is also the pen behind the legendary styling of the Countach.

Over the course of 16 years - 1974-1990 - Lamborghini made just 2,042 Countaches. Of those, 650 were of the 25th Anniversary ilk, produced from 1988 through 1990. Many Lamborghini model names, before and after the Countach, were adopted after famous bulls and bullfighting. But the word Countach, from the local Piedmontese language, is an exclamation of astonishment, generally deployed by men upon spying a beautiful woman.

The Countach's racecar-like body was constructed of aircraft-grade aluminum over a tubular space frame. It housed a traditional Lamborghini V12, longitudinally mounted with a mid-engine configuration. All European Countaches maintained the use of carburettors, while the ones made for the US market - starting with the 5000QV - employed Bosch Jetronic fuel injection. Despite being made so long ago, the Countach only weighed 3,300 pounds.

The 25th Anniversary Countach features many aesthetic changes not seen on earlier iterations. But the subtle differences are just individual variations in Lamborghini's DNA, renowned for exotic, breathtaking creations. Even though Countach production stopped almost two decades ago, it is still revered as one of the most iconic and recognizable sports cars today. We're pleased to entertain inquiries and visits concerning this car. We're just as enthused to have it in our showroom as we're sure you would be to come see it. So don't hesitate; pick up the phone and schedule and appointment, or just drop in when you have a chance. We'd be more than happy to take it out with you for a test drive.
